Bowling fans invited to draw on artistic skills
 If your kids are a dab hand in the creative stakes, why not put your feet up and keep them entertained with this design competition – it may even win you and the family free bowling for a year!
Hollywood Bowl is inviting young budding artists to bring out their paints and felt tip pens, as it prepares to launch a school’s initiative that will see someone’s creation brought to the attention of thousands of children.
The education pack, which is due to launch in November, will be created for Key Stage 2 children, aged between 7 and 11, and will act as an aid for teachers to bring curriculum subjects to life through the use of imaginative topics.
Hollywood Bowl is now looking for an original design to adorn the front of the education pack and is calling on children to submit their entries and win free family bowling for a year in return.
Maxine Walton, from Hollywood Bowl said: “Bowling is an exciting pastime that is enjoyed by so many children. We hope that by bringing the topic into the school room through these education packs, we can help make subjects such as Maths and English more enjoyable.”
“As the children that visit our bowls have undoubtedly influenced what goes into these education packs, it only seems fitting that they should have some input into their design.
“We would like the design to reflect what children really love about bowling – whether it be enjoying a day out with their family and friends or the exhilarating feeling they get when they knock all of the pins to the floor and get a strike!”
Maxine added: “The winning design will not only been seen in schools across the country, but will also feature on the Hollywood Bowl website where it will be available for download. We would even like to invite the winning artist to a special event when the education packs launch in November.”
